Chain Maille is made up of a pattern of interlocking rings, by opening, weaving, and closing each ring in a time consuming (and addictive!) process. Historically it was used for armor but I use it to create colorful, durable, jewelry pieces that are beautiful but still retain the edge of being created out of medieval fighting gear weaves.
This attractive bracelet is made in the Byzantine Pattern. The Byzantine pattern creates a “rolled” Bracelet chain that is striking in appearance yet extremely comfortable to wear. Byzantine jewelry is a type and style from the Byzantine era. Authentic Byzantine jewelry was created during the Byzantine Empire, which was from the fourth century AD to approximately the mid 1400’s.
